Make Sure Your Vote Counts – Even If You Can’t Get to a Polling Station

If you’ll be away on polling day – whether at work, on holiday, physically unable to attend, or simply too busy – you can still exercise your democratic right to vote.

Even if you’ve recently moved and haven’t updated your registration details, there are ways to make sure your voice is heard.

Options for Voting:

  1. Vote by Post
    Voting by post is an easy and secure option if you can’t make it to the polling station.
    • To learn more and download a postal vote application form, visit the Government's official site:

    • Once you’ve completed the form, send it to your local Electoral Registration Officer at:
      East Riding of Yorkshire Council
      County Hall, Beverley, East Yorkshire HU17 9BA
  2. Appoint a Proxy
    You can also nominate someone you trust to vote on your behalf.
